Job Responsibility
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Assist in mise en place (ingredient preparation, sauce making, marination).
- Follow recipes, portioning, and plating guidelines for pastries, bakery, and savoury items.
- Learn and improve cooking, baking, and pastry techniques under senior chefs.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations.

Department-Specific Tasks
- Bakery: Prepare dough, bread, and other baked goods using correct techniques.
- Pastry: Assist in the creation of cakes, tarts, and desserts, including decoration.
- Savoury: Help with cooking, plating, and portioning savoury dishes for outlets.

Kitchen Operations & Hygiene
- Follow kitchen hygiene, Halal, and food safety compliance.
- Store, label, and rotate ingredients properly to maintain freshness.
- Keep kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment clean and maintained.
- Reduce food wastage by following portioning and storage guidelines.

Morning Deliveries & Food Dispatch
- Assist in packing, labelling, and organizing food for morning deliveries.
- Ensure timely and accurate food dispatch to outlets.

Teamwork & Learning
- Work closely with senior chefs (Demi Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, etc.).
- Accept feedback and continuously improve skills.
- Assist in section duties as assigned and demonstrate a positive attitude.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Minimum SPM or Certificate/Diploma in Baking, Pastry, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Relevant kitchen experience preferred:
- Commis 1: Minimum 2+ years of experience.
- Commis 2: Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Commis 3: No experience required but must show eagerness to learn.
- Familiarity with Halal food preparation standards is a plus.
