Job summary

EPAM Systems Malaysia is seeking a mid-senior Back-end Developer (Java & Spring Boot) to design, develop and maintain scalable backend services, leveraging Java, Spring Boot and PostgreSQL to deliver reliable, business-critical applications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews and CI/CD, work in containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes, and contribute to cloud deployments on AWS.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and Spring Boot in backend development
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with object storage or file storage services like Amazon S3
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and backend design
• Version control experience with GitHub
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Clear communication in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain back-end services using Java and Spring Boot
• Manage data persistence using PostgreSQL and S3 storage
• Build scalable, reliable backend components for business-critical applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features
• Participate in code reviews, debugging and performance optimization
• Support CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions
• Operate in Docker/Kubernetes environments and monitor with Datadog
