Job summary

Grab is seeking a Backend Software Engineer for Insurance Operations in Malaysia. You will report to the Engineering Manager, Insurance Operations, and develop backend systems for accounting, reporting, and third‑party integrations for insurance products.

The role emphasizes ownership, learning, and autonomy, with onsite work in Petaling Jaya. You will work on regulatory reporting capabilities and partnerships, collaborating with diverse teams to deliver scalable services and maintain code

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Golang.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and Git.
• Cloud experience with AWS and understanding of SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications for accounting, reporting, and integration services.
• Build and maintain third‑party integrations for regulatory compliance.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and solve complex problems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and ship new features.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
• Troubleshoot, debug issues and provide quick resolutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction.
• Participate in On-Call rotations to ensure service reliability.
