Job summary

Bybit in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain wealth management backend modules using Golang. You will design technical solutions, participate in architecture discussions, and ensure data consistency through MySQL optimization.

Strong knowledge of Redis, Kafka, gRPC/Thrift, and Linux; 3+ years of backend experience is expected. Join a global team delivering robust financial technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years backend development experience.
• Solid CS fundamentals (data structures & algorithms, OS, networks).
• Proficient in at least one: Golang, C++, Java, or Rust.
• Familiar with MySQL (index optimization, transactions, slow query analysis).
• Familiar with Redis cache design and common pitfalls.
• Familiar with message queues (Kafka/RocketMQ); RPC frameworks (gRPC/Thrift).
• Familiar with Linux operations and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with Git and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend feature modules for wealth management using Golang.
• Independently design technical solutions for requirements and participate in architecture discussions.
• Design MySQL schemas, write SQL, and optimize performance for stability and data consistency.
• Use Redis and Kafka for cache strategy and asynchronous processing to improve performance.
• Monitor, alert, and troubleshoot production services to maintain stability.
• Write high-quality docs, review code, and drive engineering quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as a module Owner, responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of backend feature modules for the wealth management business, using Golang


• Independently complete technical solution design for business requirements, participate in system architecture discussions, and tackle complex tasks with guidance.


• Responsible for MySQL database schema design, SQL writing, and performance optimization to ensure system stability and data consistency.


• Proficiently use middleware such as Redis and Kafka for cache strategy development and asynchronous message processing to improve system performance and user experience.


• Participate in system monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting to help maintain production service stability.


• Write high-quality technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with the team to drive engineering quality improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above (full-time) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field


• 3 years or above of backend development experience


• Solid CS fundamentals (data structures & algorithms, operating systems, computer networks)


• Proficient in at least one of: Golang, C++, Java, or Rust


• Familiar with MySQL (index optimization, transaction isolation, slow query analysis); familiar with Redis cache design and common pitfalls


• Familiar with message queues (Kafka / RocketMQ); understanding of RPC frameworks (gRPC / Thrift) and microservice governance


• Familiar with Linux operations and troubleshooting


• Proficient with Git; understanding of CI/CD workflows

Nice to Have:

• Experience in finance / wealth management business development


• Distributed systems design experience


• Blockchain-related project development experience


• Proficient with AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude / ChatGPT


• Personal tech blog, GitHub open-source projects, or community contributions


• Overseas study or work experience is a plus


• Strong professional knowledge with proactive communication and clear articulation


• Fast learner, able to quickly understand project requirements


• Strong sense of responsibility and excellent teamwork spirit
