Job summary

Focal Consulting in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Backend Lead to guide a team of engineers in building scalable .NET backend systems and driving architectural excellence. You will design and maintain RESTful APIs, oversee database design with SQL Server and EF Core, and champion CI/CD practices to ensure reliability and security.

The role blends hands-on coding with high-level architecture decisions, requiring strong leadership, communication, and a track record of delivering robust backend

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5–7+ years of backend development experience with 1–2 years in a leadership or architectural role.
• Deep expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, modern .NET runtime, REST API design, and Git-based workflows.

• Database & Cloud:Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, and cloud platforms (such as Microsoft Azure or AWS).
• Leadership Profile:Excellent problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance hands‑on coding, with high-level architectural decision‑making.
