Overview
As an Intermediate AWS Network Engineer, you will support 24×7 network operations, monitoring, and automation tasks, ensuring infrastructure stability and rapid incident response.
Responsibilities
- Operational Support & Monitoring: Monitor CloudWatch alerts (EC2 health, VPC anomalies), triage issues, and escalate complex cases.
- Maintain Transit Gateway routing tables, audit cross-region connections, and generate health reports.
- Track third party dedicated line performance (latency/packet loss) and submit trend analyses.
Automation & Tooling
- Script Python/Bash utilities for log archiving (VPC Flow Logs to S3) and resource tagging.
- Use AWS SSM to automate patching, backups, and security group audits.
Security & Compliance
- Analyse VPC Flow Logs to block suspicious IPs (e.g., port scanning) and update NACL rules.
- Audit security groups, remove obsolete rules, and maintain compliance checklists.
- Support SOC investigations with network-layer forensics (e.g., traffic log extraction).
Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- 3+ years in cloud networking, with 1+ year focused on AWS.
- Understanding of financial network architectures (e.g., DMZ/core zone isolation).
Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience with EC2/VPC/Route 53 and basic CloudFormation templating.
- Linux CLI tools (tcpdump, Netstat) for network diagnostics.
- Basic scripting (Python/Bash) for log/resource management.
Certifications
- AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (required).
- CCNP (preferred).
