Job summary

G-AsiaPacific is seeking a hands-on Mid-Level Data Engineer with 3–5 years of solid experience, primarily in AWS, who can blend data engineering with customer-facing consulting and presales-to-delivery engagement.

The role requires someone who can understand customer challenges, assess their data landscape, design practical solutions, and work closely with Sales, Solution Architects (SA), Technology and Delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Data Engineering experience.
• Strong AWS data services experience.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing.
• Experience with Spark/PySpark preferred.
• Exposure to ML data engineering.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Able to run customer workshops.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data warehouses and data lakes.
• Hands-on with AWS data services including Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, EMR/Spark.
• Develop data solutions using SQL, Python and Spark.
• Conduct Data Discovery, Assessment and Workshops with customers.
• Analyze data environments and recommend consolidation, migration and analytics approaches.
• Support presales activities including discovery, proposals, POCs and presentations.
• Navigate Presales - Solution Architecture - Engineering - Delivery to ensure smooth handover.
• Collaborate with Sales/SA/Technology/Delivery to translate business challenges into scalable solutions.
• Support ML/AI use cases by preparing data pipelines and datasets.
• Troubleshoot and optimize data workloads for performance and cost.
• Remain customer-focused and ensure the solution meets business outcomes.
