About the Job

The role reports to the Section Head, GEC Underwriting and is responsible to provide underwriting service on Life or A&H new applications requiring medical and financial underwriting. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and guiding a team of underwriting managers to ensure that New Business Underwriting cases are attended to within the stipulated Turnaround Time.The incumbent will also be required to manage any appeal escalated or received by the team.

· Lead and guide a team of Underwriters responsible for underwriting New Business applications of Life and A&H businesses

· Provide prompt case management support (e.g. to explain the rationale on underwriting decisions regarding loading/ exclusion/ postponed/ declined) to financial representatives through e-booking, meet up sessions, emails and phone calls and to provide prompt assistance as and when required.

· Arrange case distributions to each underwriter in the team

· Ensure department’s KPIs are achieved

· Any other tasks and duties assigned by Head of Department
