We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as AVP, Salesperson Markets - Financial Institutional Sales (Hybrid) (Internal Job Title: Salesperson - C12) based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This front-office role is based on a dynamic and fast-paced trading floor at Citibank Berhad. The position requires working closely with the trading and sales teams to provide comprehensive client coverage including asset managers, pension funds, insurance firms, and banks.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling product coverage across multiple asset classes, such as Rates, Index, FX, Equity Derivatives, and MGS tenders.
  • Developing expertise in relevant market drivers and executing trades with a high level of competence.
  • Building trust-based relationships with clients by understanding their needs, clearly articulating desk strategies, and maintaining responsiveness.
  • Balancing competing priorities across clients, internal teams, and the firm’s objectives.
  • Supporting the post-trade process by ensuring accuracy in all records and adherence to internal controls.
  • Lead strong governance and controls.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you.
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
  • PKMC/PPKM license holder.
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive with excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proven expertise in market and product terminology, with a solid understanding of the transaction lifecycle, execution process, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to excel under competitive pressures while maintaining a strong focus on client needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate concepts and defend ideas effectively to different audiences.
  • Comfort in engaging with business clients and senior management.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in approach.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
