Qualifications

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment necessary to produce our signature product. This individual will be trained and cross-trained to operate and troubleshoot various technologies, including heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, PCB handling and testing, robotic automation, metal stamping and bending, form/fill/seal medical packaging, and high-speed discrete component assembly. Responsibilities also include ensuring product quality performance and basic machine troubleshooting in case of faults and stops.

During plant start-up, this position will work during core business hours. Shift times may adjust based on business needs, requiring shift work.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform equipment setup, operation, repair, and preventative maintenance to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  2. Maintain raw material feeds, clear faults, and resolve stoppages on equipment.
  3. Operate equipment via human machine interfaces (HMIs).
  4. Conduct equipment inspections and generate work orders for repairs or preventive measures.
  5. Troubleshoot mechanical errors, safety issues, or operational inefficiencies.
  6. Utilize computer systems for inventory and quality management.
  7. Support new product design transfer, process development, and validations.
  8. Investigate and resolve process issues within equipment cells.
  9. Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of machinery.
  10. Work from specifications, work orders, and instructions from supervisors or team leads.
  11. Follow SOPs and GMPs to ensure safety and quality.
  12. Notify supervisors of discrepancies to maintain standards.
  13. Maintain attention to detail, good organization, and ability to work independently.
  14. Collaborate in small groups and cross-functional teams for troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  15. Maintain a clean work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing.
  16. Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Manufacturing/Engineering or related field.
  • Malaysia’s skill certificate (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia) is an advantage.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • At least 1 year experience in automation production.
  • Experience in manufacturing or automation environments.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude.
  • Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with multitasking capability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in startup production environments is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Malay; basic English comprehension for documentation and communication.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong math and arithmetic skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and bend for up to 12 hours daily.
  • Frequent lifting above shoulder level and occasional lifting below waist.
  • Pre-employment medical check and fitness to work required.
  • No history of back or neck issues or drug use.
