Job summary

Intel Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Software Development Engineer to help create and optimize software across multiple layers of the factory stack, ensuring seamless operation of Intel's production systems.

You will join Intel Foundry's Automation Operations group, providing support for global factories and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and reliable manufacturing operations in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline is required.
• 1+ year of experience in infrastructure and platform support.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively.
• Foundational knowledge of operating system architecture, configuration, and networking.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical troubleshooting and operational support for Factory Automation Platforms/Infrastructure.
• Perform project work including automation process and/or product hardening.

Job Details: Job Description: The Role and Impact As a Manufacturing Systems Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to the creation and optimization of solutions spanning multiple layers of the software stack, ensuring the seamless operation of factory systems. Your work will directly impact Intel's ability to deliver industry-leading products, making you an integral part of the manufacturing process.

Business Group This position belongs to Intel Foundry's Automation Operations group, which focuses on implementing and supporting innovative solutions to enhance factory efficiency and product quality. The team works across Intel’s global manufacturing network to support advanced technologies and ensure operational excellence, contributing to Intel's broader mission of delivering high-performance, world-changing products.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical troubleshooting and operational support for Factory Automation Platforms/Infrastructure in Intel Foundry's Technology Development Factories.
• Perform project work including Automation process and/or product hardening.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex system challenges and optimize manufacturing operations.
• Document processes, tools, and solutions, ensuring knowledge sharing across teams.
• Provide technical support and implement solutions for distributed enterprise systems spanning global factory operations.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in Infrastructure and Platform support.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware-related issues effectively.
• Foundational knowledge of operating system architecture, configuration, and networking protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse global teams.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, ITIL frameworks, and DevOps practices.
• This role follows a compressed work week position for Wed-Sat.
• The schedule supports continuous factory operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
