Automation Equipment Maintenance Manager

1. Equipment Maintenance Strategy & Execution

Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all automation equipment.

Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to drive continuous improvement.

Establish spare parts inventory management to reduce downtime and optimize maintenance costs.

Oversee the Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) of new automation equipment.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC, ESD, and industry standards for equipment validation.

Manage regular calibration and verification of automation systems to maintain accuracy and consistency.

Lead maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving automation failures in robotics, SMT, ICT, FCT, AOI, and conveyor systems.

Implement AI-based predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.

Work closely with Automation, Process, and Quality Engineers to enhance equipment efficiency.

Conduct FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify potential failure risks and mitigation plans.

4. Team Management & Training

Manage and develop a team of automation maintenance engineers and technicians.

Provide hands-on training programs for operators and technicians on maintenance best practices.

Establish a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

5. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all equipment maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Maintain detailed equipment maintenance logs, repair records, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Support internal and external audits by providing maintenance reports and compliance documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in automation equipment maintenance within an EMS or high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with SMT, ICT/FCT, robotic systems, and industrial automation equipment.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron), industrial robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA), and motion control systems.

Experience with pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, and wave soldering equipment.

Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), MES, and SCADA systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and control system diagrams.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

Experience with AI-driven predictive maintenance, digital twins, and IoT-based monitoring systems.

Certification in Lean Six Sigma, TPM, or Industrial Robotics.

Knowledge of factory automation trends and Industry 4.0 technologies.
