Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang seeks an Engineer to develop and implement automation systems for improved productivity. Candidates should have a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree and experience in jig and fixture design. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, and good communication skills are essential. Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering.
• Familiar with Manual Fixture, Semi Auto Fixture and Auto Machine with controller (PC and PLC).
• Experience in manufacturing environment on jig and fixture design.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• To develop and implement new automatic / semi auto system into production route for better productivity with cost competitive, ultimate UPH, minimum head count and maintain product quality.
• Supporting the potential high volume product on develop effective method and system integration (working with in house build equipment)
• Proactively create innovative and implement new project to enhance manufacturing integrity.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

Establish effective control system to ensure all test related process are always at stable operating condition.

Introduce new ideas to increase the manufacturing productivity.

To manage all related process documents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

To identify the improvement opportunities at existing production route with business proposal. (value creation, execution plan and execution concept).

Working thru with the assigned vendor, supplier or outsources provider on project bases.

Develop a prototype contribution to prove the core process works.

Equipment retrofitting with effective result.

Continuously explore new improvement on UPH, head count reduction, process simplification through innovation idea and 6 sigma tools.

Six sigma projects must carry out each year.

To coordinate existing or old equipment upgrade activities.

Involved in design review, idea exchanges and other company activities.

Position Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering.

Familiar with Manual Fixture, Semi Auto Fixture and Auto Machine with controller (PC and PLC), Pro E program, testing data based.

Experience in manufacturing environment on jig and fixture design, manufacturing project improvement.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge in 6 Sigma and related tools such as DFMEA, TRIZ would be added advantage.
