About the role

To help cement Australia’s strong position as a prime leisure destination we’re looking for a dynamic and friendly Aussie Specialist Program (“ASP”) Trainer/Coordinator - Malaysia to join the team in Kuala Lumpur. The successful individual will help represent and market one of the most beautiful countries in the world… Australia!

Tourism Australia (“TA”) recognizes the important role that front line travel sellers play in bringing visitors to Australia. The Aussie Specialist Program is an interactive online training platform Tourism Australia uses to educate, update and motivate front line sales agents to sell Australia.

This is a 2-year full-time contract opportunity based in our Malaysia office and reports into the Country Manager, Malaysia. The ASP Trainer/Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Recruiting new agents to register for the program, driving conversion from registration to qualification, as well as driving overall engagement of the wider website and tracking, analysing and reporting on performance.
  • Designing and delivering all retail/distribution sales training programs for agents within the relevant market/s on behalf of TA within the Malaysia market facilitating face-to-face and online (e.g. webinar) training of qualified ASP agents.
  • Organizing and running events that provide a platform and the opportunity for State and Territory Organizations (“STO”) and other partners to train travel agents on their products/regions.
  • Managing allocated Aussie Specialist budget with guidance from Business Development Manager, Malaysia.
  • Gathering content from STOs, and localising for the market where required and then publishing this content through the ASP website and channels.
  • Providing valuable market insights to TA and STOs.

About you

  • 3-5 years’ travel industry experience within a sales product development role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin
  • Proven presentation skills both developing and delivering presentations to various audience sizes
  • Good understanding of Australian destination and product knowledge is desirable
  • Good understanding of the Malaysian and Australian travel industry landscape is desirable
  • Superior relationship management skills
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours and travelling as part of a multinational organization
  • Based in Malaysia with full, unrestricted working rights
