About the Department

The Audit function is an independent internal audit team that provides objective assurance and consulting to improve and add value to the Group's operations. We help the Group achieve its strategic objectives by adopting a systematic and disciplined approach towards evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Job Responsibilities

Ideally, the successful candidate is already in a Shariah Audit role. However, candidates from Shariah Review or Shariah Risk are also welcome. We will provide training in internal audit methodology for such candidates.

  • Participates/Lead audits and possesses comprehensive understanding of the Islamic banking business and products.
  • Well-versed in assessing operational and Shariah risks and controls, and is expected to recommend practical, business-focused solutions to improve risk management practices, as well as play an advisory role as subject matter expert.
  • Participates and help drive the adoption of data analytics to increase audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identify trends and opportunities, and new insights from the data.
  • Carry out effective engagements with senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to influence a wide range of stakeholders. Able to carry out effective negotiations with various stakeholders where required.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, political astuteness and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
Job Requirements
  • A recognized degree, with minimum 7 years of relevant working experience either in a reputable financial institution or auditing firm.
  • Accreditation with Certified Bank Auditor (CBA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Preferably accredited with relevant Shariah qualifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Presents oneself confidently and professionally.
  • Technology and data savvy, have strong aptitude and interest to learn and use data analytics and visualization tools.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting Shariah Audit/ Shariah Review.
