Job summary

Por, Ooi & Co. PLT, a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Alor Setar, is seeking an audit professional to support multiple assignments. You will participate in planning, perform audit fieldwork, and help prepare financial statements in line with approved accounting standards and the Companies Act 2016.

We value self-motivated, detail-oriented team players who can also work independently under deadlines and are willing to travel. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Computer literate with MS Office applications.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and positive attitude.
• Strong drive to excel professionally and to guide others.
• Team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to learn and travel.

Responsibilities

• Gain an understanding and assist in planning multiple audit assignments.
• Execute understanding of accounting/auditing principles, quality control standards and technology procedures for client assignments.
• Participate in client assignments from start to finish including audit fieldwork, documenting working papers and collecting audit evidence.
• Assist seniors to draft audited financial statements in accordance with standards and Companies Act 2016.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with client staff to enhance satisfaction and strengthen relationships.
• Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities:-

• Gain an understanding and assist in planning multiple audit assignments
• Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, quality control standards and technology implementation procedures relative to individual client assignments
• Participate in client assignments from beginning to end including performing audit field works, document and compiling audit working papers and collect sufficient audit evidences in order to assist senior in accomplishing whole audit assignment
• Assist senior to draft the audited financial statements in accordance with the applicable approved accounting standards and the Companies Act 2016
• Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all levels of client staff to increase customer satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships
• Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct
