AUDIT MANAGER (EXTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT)

About the role

Assura is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our growing External Audit Department. As Audit Manager, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing the execution of external audits for a diverse range of corporate clients. Based in Johor Bahru, Johor, this full-time position offers the opportunity to work for a leading accounting and financial services firm and contribute to the strategic objectives of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and oversee the planning, execution, and finalisation of external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients
• Lead audit teams and supervise junior audit staff to ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant audit deliverables
• Identify and address audit risks, develop appropriate audit strategies, and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations
• Prepare and review detailed audit reports, financial statements, and other client deliverables
• Liaise with clients, communicate audit findings and recommendations, and provide value-added advisory services
• Support the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and training within the department
• Contribute to the overall growth and development of the External Audit team and department

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) with 5+ years of post-qualification experience in external auditing
• Proven experience in managing and leading audit teams, ideally within a public accounting firm or reputable corporate finance department
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and audit best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information to clients
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical, value-added recommendations
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in using relevant audit software and data analytics tools
