Job summary

ACCA Careers in Kuala Lumpur seeks a senior audit professional to organize and manage audits according to audit plans, oversee the process, and lead auditors to meet standards and deadlines.

The role requires a university degree in Accounting or Finance, membership of a professional body preferred, at least 5 years of experience, strong leadership and English communication, and the ability to coach junior staff while promoting the firm’s growth and culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Member of a professional accountancy body preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in auditing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Define the audit strategy for engagements and execute it in compliance with Firm policies and procedures.
• Supervise audit staff and ensure procedures are documented per audit methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Identify significant accounting and auditing issues and elevate where appropriate.
• Provide leadership to promote the audit function within the organization.
• Apply knowledge of accounting standards and disclosure requirements to allocated work.
• Coach junior team members and support their development.
• Contribute to promoting the firm’s growth and culture.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage engagements by defining the audit strategy and execute it in compliance with the Firm’s policies and procedures.
• Provide supervision and instruction to audit staff to ensure that audit procedures are performed and documented in accordance with the firm's audit methodology, regulatory requirements using applicable IT systems and tools.
• Identify the significant accounting and auditing issues and elevate issues, as appropriate.
• Provide leadership to promote the audit function in the organization
• Demonstrate knowledge of prevailing accounting standards, accounting disclosure requirements, and apply these to allocated work.
• Create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and support them in their personal and professional development
• Willing to actively play a part in promoting the firm's growth and culture

Job Requirements

• Recognized university degree and / or relevant professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Preferably a member of a professional accountancy body
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Strong technical ability, excellent interpersonal skills and formidable leadership qualities
• Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
• Good communication, interpersonal and report writing skill
• Proficient in written and spoken English
