Our client is a major financial institution with an established presence in the region. It is seeking to hire a Director, Internal Audit in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit, you will oversee and deliver a broad portfolio of audit assignments within your designated areas of expertise, specifically focusing on operational audit and group corporate functions across the region. You will ensure alignment with the approved audit plan, design audit frameworks, standards, and policies for the group, and provide independent assessments of activities, operational controls, compliance, and corporate procedures. You will also prepare and review audit reports, liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities, and communicate audit issues to senior management and the Group Audit Committee.
Requirements
You should have strong academic qualifications and at least 12 years of experience in auditing banks, asset management, insurance, or other financial institutions. Strong regional audit and people management experience would be highly desirable. A deep understanding of financial services risks and the regulatory environment is essential. You must possess exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities, and be credible, mature, driven, and skilled at building strong relationships.
