Job summary

EY Malaysia is seeking an Audit Assistant to join our External Audit team in Kuala Lumpur. You will participate in audit engagements across diverse industries, building understanding of client businesses and contributing to the delivery of accurate financial statements.

You will collaborate with clients to gather data, support planning and execution, and document procedures while identifying potential issues and communicating them to the assurance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Non-degree holders must complete professional papers (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, MICPA or CA ANZ).
• Minimum 1–2 years of work experience in Audit Services or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the audit client’s business.
• Interact with the clients to collect data, set-up and maintain audit files.
• Support the planning, execution and delivery of assurance engagements.
• Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives and audit history.
• Recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from basic analysis and communicate them to the assurance team.
