Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist senior auditors in planning and executing external audit procedures.
• Perform detailed testing of financial transactions and balances.
• Prepare and organise audit working papers.
• Conduct preliminary analytical procedures and substantive testing.
• Liaise with clients to obtain financial records and clarifications.
• Document audit findings and prepare schedules for review.

About the role

Stellar Corporate Advisory Pte Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Audit Assistant to join our growing audit team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As an Audit Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our external audit operations, assisting with the examination of financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your audit expertise whilst working on diverse client engagements in the external audit sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting senior auditors in planning and executing external audit procedures across various client engagements
• Performing detailed testing of financial transactions, account balances and supporting documentation
• Preparing and organising audit working papers in compliance with firm standards and best practices
• Conducting preliminary analytical procedures and substantive testing to identify unusual transactions or discrepancies
• Liaising with clients to obtain necessary financial records, explanations and clarifications
• Documenting audit findings and preparing audit schedules for review by senior team members
• Assisting with the preparation of audit reports and management letters for clients
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional audit standards and ethical requirements
• Supporting the audit team in meeting engagement deadlines and maintaining quality standards

What we're looking for

• Recognised accounting qualification such as a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA or similar)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and audit procedures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional approach with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding audit ethics
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and develop within the audit profession
• Prior internship experience in audit or accounting is highly desirable
