Assurance Analytics Specialist (Finance & Corporate)
Role focusing on supporting the Head of Finance & Corporate Assurance by helping the business establish and maintain sound internal controls. The role involves identifying risk areas and opportunities for improvement, delivering insightful findings, and analyzing problems and root causes through analytics.
What are you accountable for?
- Collaborate with auditors throughout the audit lifecycle (planning, fieldwork, and reporting) to identify risks and design effective data analytics procedures to test controls and business processes.
- Contribute to drafting audit reports by clearly articulating complex data-driven findings, risks, and practical recommendations to a non-technical audience, including senior management.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, transformation and enrichment to prepare data for analysis; conduct analysis using data analytics tools like SQL and Power BI; develop and generate reports, visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to obtain and consolidate data from various structured and unstructured sources across the organization including databases, APIs, and Excel files.
- Analyze audit requirements and lead the design and operationalization of audit automation using applicable technologies.
- Lead end-to-end design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of audit automation; ensure internal control tests are accepted and endorsed by Business before operationalization; monitor closure from audit automation reports and ensure findings are remediated with appropriate actions.
- Analyze data to identify control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, revenue leakage, or potential fraud by investigating outliers, patterns, and trends.
- Document audit automation design documentation, testing results and data analytics procedures for audit workpapers.
- Stay current with auditing data standards, regulations and analytics best practices.
What do you need to have for this role?
- 4-6 years of work experience including in an audit function (internal or external) and using data analytics tools.
- Experience as a data analyst, or professional certification in data analytics is an added advantage.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with auditing processes, standards, and documentation.
- Business acumen and understanding of overall business processes, operations and compliance.
- Ability to manage strict deadlines and handle pressure.
