A leading security provider in Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking a Head of Security to manage personnel and ensure compliance with regulations. The role requires experience in security management, proficiency in Malay and English, and a willingness to work flexible hours. The ideal candidate will oversee surveillance activities and act as the main point of contact with enforcement agencies.
Ensure all appointed security personnel is well-managed, disciplined, and operating at the highest standards of integrity across all NUR Power premises.
Guarantee that all security duties and protocols are in full compliance with the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959 (Act 298), the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994), and other relevant safety and security regulations.
Act as the primary first responder to all security threats and emergency incidents, taking immediate action to mitigate risks and secure the area.
Conduct regular, unannounced spot checks to ensure all security guards are performing their duties under established standards and procedures.
Ensure all security systems, including fences, CCTV, access control, fire protection, and public address systems, are always in excellent working condition.
Oversee continuous surveillance and monitoring activities, both through CCTV systems and physical patrols, on a 24-hour basis.
Manage the entire process of issuing and revoking access cards for all staff, contractors, and visitors.
Act as the central liaison between the security supervisors and the management of NUR Power Sdn Bhd, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Proactively provide input and suggestions for the development and implementation of new security procedures, as well as the enhancement of existing security systems and physical infrastructure.
Serve as the key point of contact with various enforcement and emergency agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Immigration Department (JIM), the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), the Chief Government Security Office (CGSO), the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA), and medical services.
Any other responsibilities that may be required, in the interests of the Company from time to time.
A Diploma or bachelor’s in security management, or a related field, is preferred. Relevant security courses are a plus.
At least 3 years of experience in the security field, with a background in the military or police being a significant advantage. Prior experience managing or supervising a security team and contracted guards is essential.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating and monitoring CCTV systems and other security surveillance devices.
Proficiency in both Malay and English is required.
Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to create clear incident and daily activity reports.
Computer literacy for logging and administrative tasks.
Familiarity with the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959 (Act 298) and industrial safety procedures is mandatory.
Must be a disciplined, focused, and proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility.
Willingness to work outside of standard hours, including conducting investigations and spot checks as needed.
Ability to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and make critical decisions during emergencies.
Must be a Malaysian citizen.

Possess at least a valid B2 motorcycle driving license and own transport
This position requires official registration as an Authorised Officer under Act 298. This registration grants the necessary legal authority to perform security duties within a designated protected area. Should the need arise, the selected candidate will be required to undergo full Auxiliary Police training for 8 months at the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL).
