Appnovation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a QA Engineer to test modern web platforms and APIs. You will execute manual test cases, report bugs, and start building test automation under guidance from senior engineers.

Join a collaborative team to validate features across Strapi, Sanity, Contentful, GraphQL, Next.js and React. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of QA experience and are eager to grow in automation and CI/CD contexts.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of QA or software testing experience, preferably testing web applications.
• Understanding of software testing fundamentals including test case design, bug reporting, and test execution.
• Experience with Automation testing frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright.
• Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or similar REST clients.
• Good understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how web applications work.
• Cross-browser testing experience and ability to identify browser-specific issues.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify edge cases and potential issues.
• Good communication skills for reporting bugs, asking questions, and collaborating with developers.
• Willingness to learn test automation and new testing tools.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases for web applications and APIs based on requirements and user stories; test REST and GraphQL APIs using Postman, validating responses and data accuracy.
• Perform functional testing across different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) to identify compatibility issues.
• Report bugs clearly with steps to reproduce, screenshots, and relevant details to help developers fix issues quickly.
• Start building test automation scripts using Playwright or Cypress under guidance from senior engineers.
• Validate user interfaces for responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes.
• Perform basic accessibility testing using browser tools and automated scanners like axe.
• Participate in daily standups and provide testing status updates to the team.
• Review and provide feedback on requirements and user stories from a testing perspective.
• Maintain test documentation including test cases and test results.

About The Role

Join our Kuala Lumpur team as a QA Engineer working on digital projects for clients across different industries. You'll test modern web platforms and APIs, learning how to ensure quality across content management systems, user interfaces, and integrations. This is a great opportunity to develop your testing skills working with technologies like Strapi, Sanity, Contentful, GraphQL, Next.js, and React.

You'll work across the team with developers, designers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and validate that features work as expected. Your day-to-day will include executing test cases, reporting bugs, performing API testing, and starting to build test automation. You'll collaborate across different projects and get exposure to various client challenges and technical approaches.

This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their testing expertise working on diverse client projects. You'll get hands‑on experience with modern testing tools, build test automation frameworks, and develop strong quality practices across different types of digital platforms.

What we are looking for

Must-Have
