Associate Professor (PhD) – Computer Science / ICT (Cybersecurity) [fixed-term contract]

Salary range: RM13000-RM19000

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our institution specializing in Cybersecurity, with a focus on Penetration Testing and/or Information Systems Security. As an expert in these areas, you will deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and mentor students pursuing degrees or certifications in cybersecurity. Your role will be pivotal in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge, preparing both postgraduate and undergraduate students for real-world challenges, and nurturing their passion for this rapidly evolving field.

Requirements:

  • A doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong and recognized research track record.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in Penetration Testing and Information Systems Security, including knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, effectively conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to students with varying technical backgrounds. Prior teaching experience, preferably in higher education settings, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in penetration testing tools, programming languages, and operating systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Commitment to staying updated with the evolving cybersecurity landscape, particularly in Penetration Testing and Information Systems Security, and sharing knowledge with students.
