JOB SUMMARY
- This position will contribute significantly to:
- the governance and collegial life within and outside the institution;
- the discipline in teaching, research, scholarship, leadership, service, and engagement, with recognition at an international level, or nationally in exceptional cases;
- original and innovative scholarship, research, and teaching in the discipline;
- fostering research, teaching, and policy development within the institution and the community, professional, commercial, and industrial sectors.

- Develop a portfolio supporting research and scholarly activities.
- Disseminate research findings through relevant platforms.
- Supervise honours and postgraduate students, including doctoral candidates.
- Contribute to research training and develop research groups within the Faculty.
- Secure external funding for research activities.
- Develop collaborative research networks.
- Undertake research with impact aligned with Academic Level D expectations.
- Innovate and excel in teaching, continually developing curriculum and instructional materials.
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and assessments, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
- Mentor and provide consultation to students.
- Enhance teaching, training, and mentoring skills continuously.
- Design and deliver management development training sessions for executives.
- Expand and develop learning and teaching activities within the Faculty.
- Be prepared for teaching hours beyond regular hours, including weekends.
- Engage in teaching activities that meet the impact expectations for Academic Level D.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage and develop the Faculty’s learning programs and policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- A relevant PhD from a recognized institution
- Registration with a professional body such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia
- Professional qualifications (PEng, IPEA, APEC Engineer) or progressing towards them
- Knowledge in power systems, electrical apparatus, hydrogen power, and renewable energy
- Significant teaching experience in higher education in relevant disciplines
- Experience in establishing industry partnerships
- Proven research output and leadership, with successful research funding
- Undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications from reputed institutions
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Experience in supervising postgraduate students
- Scholarly publications and research impact
- Experience in consultancy, training, curriculum development, and collaborative research
- Recognition in scholarly and professional domains
- Leadership, strategic planning, and mentorship experience
- Ability to attract research funding and foster collaborations
- Managerial experience and familiarity with digital learning technologies
