The Assistant Production Planner conducts production planning and related administration work for production in Insulet’s first Malaysia manufacturing facility. Support the Production Planner to execute established inventory strategies to ensure component and product supply across the operation. Maintains manufacturing material and finished goods levels to achieve high service levels within financial and operational targets. Key user for material management and related modules for inventory management and movement within the production floor. Works closely with the Material Planner and supply chain group.

Responsibilities:
Supports Production Planner to develop, maintain and communicate a weekly production schedule for each production line to meet the company’s customer service and inventory objectives.
Complete and maintain daily operational and financial reports that would include scrap and volume.
Coordinates with S&OP Planning to maintain an up-to-date production forecast that supports the company’s objectives.
Coordinates the production schedule to ensure that all Kanban’s are adequately stocked and meet schedule requirements.
Applies the SAP / MES / Excel and appropriate software to prepare production reports for the daily reporting.
Ensures that quality and production data is recorded accurately and in a timely manner with Production Administrator and Production Team Lead.
Provides revisions to production schedules when necessary and any impacts from material, machine, headcount, etc. perspective.
Participates in required raw material and WIP inventory cycle counts and works with Supply Chain Team to reconcile inventory and identify variances when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in operations, Business, Finance, or related field preferred; operations concentration preferred.
1-3 years of experience as a Planner, preferably in a Medical Device Environment.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Experience with ERP/MRP.
Experience with SAP Software preferred.
Proficient in MS Office – emphasis on Excel.
Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities.
Cooperative, team player and positive attitude a must.
Strong service-orientation.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay).
