Job description

Purpose of Job

This role will be based in Labuan’s office and reporting to the Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur office, shall be responsible in supporting all General Ledger and Reporting related activities.

This role involves a wide range of accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, preparing financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with the accounting principles and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and other general ledger operations, payroll journals etc.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including account payable/receivable, general ledger and payroll.
  • Assist in month end closing activities and statutory financial reporting to meet the reporting timelines, including all LFSA submissions.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly and year end closing activities and reporting, including the preparation of financial statements and schedules.
  • Prepare and manage balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations on monthly basis and monitor cash flows in the bank.
  • Monitor and reconcile financial accounts and transactions.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Assist in audit and liaise with auditors and bankers on banking matters.
  • Assist in tax filings/lodgement and liaise with tax consultants.
  • Ensure all financial tasks are completed promptly and adhere to corporate timelines, guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively supporting in system migration and implementation, including system testing.
  • Collaborating with cross -functional teams to facilitate financial processes and reporting.
  • Other ad-hoc assignments as and when required by the management.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience or in similar financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Strong experience in General Ledger posting and reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other office applications, accounting systems or ERP systems.
  • Experience in system migration and implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
