Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking an experienced Client Account Manager to oversee a Financial Institutions portfolio. You will deliver day-to-day account management, coordinate onboarding, credit and documentation, and ensure timely execution while maintaining risk and governance standards.

In this role, you will liaise with coverage bankers, product teams and compliance to sustain high-quality service, manage documentation, monitor portfolio health, and mitigate operational risks in line with

Qualifications

  • Relevant banking experience, ideally five or more years, with exposure to Financial Institutions clients, client account management, credit or documentation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional delivery, analyse transactional or portfolio information, solve problems under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of sanctions, customer due diligence, anti-money laundering, credit risk and relevant regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage day-to-day maintenance activities for the assigned client portfolio and provide direct support to Coverage Bankers.
  • Engage clients, coverage teams and product partners to understand issues, coordinate responses and maintain a high standard of client service.
  • Coordinate account maintenance, reporting and documentation with onboarding, credit, legal, compliance and operations teams; elevate material concerns to the Client Management Team Lead.
  • Monitor and annotate past dues and excesses, act as an escalation point for unsettled or failed trades, and support loan drawdowns, cash management, trade offerings and audit confirmations.

Key Responsibilities
Client Account Management and Business Partnership
  • Proactively manage day-to-day maintenance activities for the assigned client portfolio and provide direct support to Coverage Bankers.
  • Engage clients, coverage teams and product partners to understand issues, coordinate responses and maintain a high standard of client service.
  • Coordinate account maintenance, reporting and documentation with onboarding, credit, legal, compliance and operations teams; elevate material concerns to the Client Management Team Lead.
Documentation, Credit Support and Client Due Diligence
  • Coordinate standard credit and other documentation for renewals and amendments with clients and internal partners, excluding credit approval decisions.
  • Obtain approvals for deviations from standard terms, follow through to completion and validate that limits are accurately reflected in relevant systems.
  • Minimise and remediate documentation deficiencies and support timely resolution of outstanding customer due diligence items.
Portfolio Quality, Transaction Support and Risk Management
  • Maintain portfolio data quality, including accurate client tagging, limit information and segment classification, and coordinate remediation where required.
  • Monitor and annotate past dues and excesses, act as an escalation point for unsettled or failed trades, and support loan drawdowns, cash management, trade offerings and audit confirmations.
  • Identify operational risks, ensure adherence to internal and regulatory requirements, prepare client files for audit, and collaborate to mitigate and resolve conduct and compliance matters.
  • Operate as an individual contributor and participate in relevant portfolio reviews, business forums, committees and assigned projects.
