Job summary

Standard Chartered in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a strategic leader to head a team of investment advisors responsible for managing affluent clients’ wealth portfolios across FX, retail bonds, structured investments, unit trusts and bancassurance.

You will drive revenue targets for Wealth Solutions, maintain disciplined asset allocation, coordinate with Investment Products through the Country Advisory Council, and upskill client teams and IA colleagues to deliver compliant, market-ready solutions.

Qualifications

  • CFA/ CFP/ CAIA preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Build a team of trusted investment advisors that can showcase wealth solutions and asset allocation capabilities and deliver income targets.
  • Achieve Wealth Solutions revenue and sales targets.
  • Enhance the delivery of the wealth select framework and build wealth portfolios for affluent clients.
  • Work with WS Investment Products as part of Country Advisory Council to provide monthly actionable ideas and product solutions.
  • Conduct daily morning huddles at branches to brief on market direction and investment solutions.
  • Manage clients’ investments through frequent and consistent portfolio reviews and advice.
  • Upskill, reskill and train key stakeholders (client relationship teams and IA team).
  • Ensure disciplined asset allocation and risk management of clients’ portfolios.
  • Ensure all transactions follow regulations and controls set by the Bank and regulators (KYC, documentation, risk profiling).
  • Update the sales force on new regulatory requirements and operating procedures.

Lead a team of investment advisors for effective management of clients’ wealth portfolio across all product solutions including FX, retail bonds, structured investments, unit trust, bancassurance and legacy planning.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Building a team of trusted investment advisors that are capable to showcase our wealth solution and asset allocation capabilities of the bank and deliver income targets of Wealth Solutions
Business
  • To achieve Wealth Solutions revenue and sales targets
  • Enhance the delivery of our wealth select framework and build wealth portfolios for our affluent clients
Processes
  • Work with WS Investment Products as part of Country Advisory Council to provide monthly actionable ideas and product solutions
  • Ensure daily morning huddle at branches to brief current market direction and investment solutions

  • Ensure all transactions follow all regulations and controls set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities; which includes but not limited to KYC, proper documentation of transactions, risk-profiling, pre-investment forms
  • Ensure periodic updates of new regulatory requirements and/or operating procedures to sales force
