Job description

Work Location: Southkey, 80150 Johor Bahru, Johor

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing partial/full sets of account activities meeting client requirements.
  2. Submitting SST/GST returns to authorities.
  3. Assisting in the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts and unaudited financial statements.
  4. Reviewing workflows and recommending improvements.
  5. Conducting financial statement audits and reviews, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  6. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, schedules, and reports.
  7. Participating in tax planning and compliance, including preparation of tax returns.
  8. Researching and interpreting tax laws to ensure compliance.
  9. Engaging with clients and maintaining strong relationships.
  10. Collaborating with teams for process improvements.
  11. Staying updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations.
  12. Performing ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting standards (IASs, FRSs, GAAP) and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
