Ansell is looking for aGlobal Category Management Assoc. Director (Scientific)to join our team inMalaysia.

In this position, you hold the responsibility towards overall management of assigned product categories, overseeing the entire product lifecycle, new product development (NPD), technical & regulatory compliance, quality, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP). This role involves developing category strategies & portfolio segmentation, driving global product execution, and leading cross-functional teams to implement key initiatives.

Acting as the primary point of contact for all product-related matters, you will lead the efforts in commercialization, cost optimization, portfolio management, and rebranding. Additionally, you serve as the key liaison between business units, regional managers, operations, R&D, QARA, marketing, and commercial leaders while providing leadership to a team of Global Product Category Managers.

What your role will be?

  • Product Lifecycle & Portfolio Management: Drives the overall product lifecycle, recommend and executes improvement or rationalization initiatives to enhance sales, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Strategic Portfolio Contribution: Actively shapes the portfolio strategy and ensures alignment with business goals.
  • Market & Sales Monitoring: Analyzes sales performance, pricing, and competition, working closely with regional teams to optimize revenue, margins, and market share.
  • Product & Category Strategy: Develops and manages category strategy, budgeting, and product positioning to maximize top-line growth and profitability.
  • New Product Development (NPD)
    • Guides NPD initiatives, ensures alignment with portfolio strategy, and provides oversight on product development, commercialization, and launch processes.
    • Oversees all aspects of the NPD process, from opportunity identification and validation to commercialization, market launch, and post-launch planning.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serves as the primary contact and expert for the assigned product category.
  • Operational & Quality Leadership: Collaborates with Global Operations, R&D, and Sourcing to optimize product specifications, operational efficiency, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensures product specifications, quality systems, and procedures comply with laws, regulations, and company standards.
  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Actively contributes to S&OP processes related to NPD and ongoing product success.
  • Tender Management Support: Maintains a tender repository and assists regional teams with tender submissions.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Leads, manages, and develops a team of four direct or indirect reports.
