A leading banking institution in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Vice President to manage tax compliance and oversee tax audits. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and possess over 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include reviewing tax filings and ensuring compliance with banking standards. Review and approve tax calculations and filings prepared by team members. Ensure and coordinate the proper maintenance of corporate tax calculations for BSN (Bank Simpanan Nasional) in accordance with tax act requirements. Take action on tax accounting matters, tax estimates, and recent changes according to the Annual Budget. Provide confirmation before the final review of the preparation of the annual tax submission calculation and initial estimate of the Bank's Corporate Tax. Lead and manage tax audits and represent the company with tax authorities. Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize tax efficiency and manage risk. Calculate tax provision forecasts and their cash flow impact on the Bank. Mentor and supervise junior executives to build tax capabilities. Ensure the annual submission of the WTD list to the WTD Registrar. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Unclaimed Money Act and the WTD list guidelines, which involve the submission of payments and the annual delivery of the WTD list to the WTD Registrar. Provide feedback to relevant departments regarding customer claims and claim verifications. Provide feedback to the data center regarding the data requirements standard for the unclaimed money list. Assist in monthly/annual account closing. Ensure that accounting matters related to FRS are supervised according to MFRS standards for analysis and management reporting needs. Assist in the calculation of Expected Credit Loss (ECL), including the analysis of its movements. Act as a project manager by ensuring that project-related matters run smoothly to achieve project goals in accordance with the Bank's internal policies on project management, compliance, and procurement.
