Job summary

NXP Semiconductors Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Assistant Supervisor to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations on the production line. The role focuses on keeping targets on track, ensuring safety and quality, and leading a team of operators in a high‑volume setting.

The incumbent will manage staffing, ensure proper machine operation with Standard Work Elements, maintain tool readiness, monitor aged lots, and champion 5S practices as part of daily routines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with KPI ownership.
• Ability to lead a group of operators and meet production targets.
• Practical understanding of safety, quality, delivery and cost drivers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure department KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) are achieved.
• Manage a group of operators reporting to this position.
• Oversee daily production line operations and staffing.
• Verify sufficient manpower to meet productivity goals.
• Ensure operators follow Standard Work Elements on machines.
• Check tools are sufficient and in good condition.
• Follow up on aged lots and lots on hold.
• Uphold 5S activities without fail.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Job description

Manufacturing Shift Assistant Supervisor are responsible for the day-to-day running of manufacturing operations. They make sure that the production line is running smoothly and that staff are meeting their production targets.

The main duties of a assistance supervisor would include:

• To ensure key performance indicators of the department are achieved. (Safety, Quality , Delivery, Cost)
• Managing group of operators that will directly report to this position.
• To manage daily operation of the production line
• To ensure all processes to have sufficient manpower in order to achieve desired productivity level
• To ensure operators are operating machines following SWE (Standard Work Element)
• Responsible for ensuring manufacturing tools are sufficient and in good condition
• To follow up on aged lots and lots on hold
• To ensure 5S activities are carried out without fail
• To carry out other given tasks which are deemed appropriate by supervisors
