Wentel Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is actively seeking individuals with your skillset to join our team as Assistant Sourcing Manager.

5-day work (Monday - Friday)

Job Responsibilities

  1. Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors to ensure the procurement of high-quality materials, equipment, and services needed at the best possible cost.
  2. Negotiate contracts and service agreements with vendors best fit with business requirements.
  3. Build strong vendor relationships, monitor vendor performance, and analyze market trends to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  4. Engage with vendors on technical specifications and quality standards to ensure customer requirements are met considering vendor capabilities.
  5. Perform strategic decision-making, lead sourcing teams, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
  6. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure products sourced are in line with the needs of the business.
  7. Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, contracts, and vendor evaluations.
  8. Perform any other duties assigned by superiors when deemed necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.

At least 5 years of working experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and procurement roles within manufacturing.

Working experience with relevant software.

Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.

The ability to identify market trends and make decisions in a high-stress environment.

Ability to review engineering drawings, provide feedback, and develop cost reduction proposals and sourcing plans.

Good knowledge of supplier sourcing practices.

Excellent networking and time management skills.

Ability to work in a team environment while also delivering independent results.

In-depth knowledge of sourcing functions.

Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, problem-solving aptitude, leadership qualities, and adaptability to dynamic sourcing environments.

Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
