Job Title: Assistant Sales Manager – Travel Trade, MICE & Series

Location: Kuala Lumpur Sales Office

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports To: Assistant Director of Sales & Director of Sales & Marketing

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-oriented Assistant Sales Manager to join our Kuala Lumpur Sales Office. This role focuses on managing and expanding business from Travel Agents, Wholesalers, Travel Agent MICE, and Series Bookings.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building strong B2B relationships, securing group and series bookings, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Travel Trade & Wholesaler Sales

•Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international travel agents and tour wholesalers.

•Promote seasonal and year-round leisure products, packages, and promotions to boost FIT and group bookings.

•Manage contracting processes including static rates, dynamic pricing, and allocation agreements.

MICE (Travel Agent-led) Business

•Collaborate with travel agents to support MICE requests, including group proposals, incentive travel, and meeting packages.

•Customize group offerings based on client requirements, budgets, and event objectives.

•Work closely with internal operations teams for successful event execution and client satisfaction.

Series Booking Management

•Identify and secure series group opportunities through wholesalers and outbound travel operators.

•Handle full coordination of series bookings – from contract negotiation and allocation management to pre-arrival preparations.

•Monitor series block performance, adjust pick-up strategies, and manage release periods effectively.

Market Development & Representation

•Represent the company at trade shows, B2B roadshows, travel fairs, and sales missions, both locally and internationally.

•Conduct regular sales calls, destination trainings, and product briefings to educate partners and increase market penetration.

Reporting & Administration

•Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client activities using CRM tools.

•Prepare regular sales performance reports, forecasts, and competitive insights for management review.

Qualifications & Requirements:

•Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, or related discipline.

•Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the hospitality or travel trade industry, preferably in group, series, or MICE segments.

•Strong understanding of tour series operations, group travel logistics, and B2B contracting processes.

•Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

•Able to travel domestically and overseas for sales missions, familiarization trips, and client meetings.

Preferred Skills:

•Familiarity with markets such as Greater China, Southeast Asia, Middle East, or Europe.

•Experience using hotel PMS/CRM systems (e.g., Opera, Salesforce).

•Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
