Job Purpose:
The Assistant Purchasing Manager - PCBA will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth procurement of materials and components related to printed circuit board assembly (PCBA). You will support the purchasing department through strategic sourcing, vendor management, and optimizing procurement processes to meet production demands effectively. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the electronics industry and strong negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for PCBA materials and components.
  2. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost-effective procurement.
  3. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  4. Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
  5. Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  6. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to forecast material requirements and address procurement challenges.
  7. Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, supplier communications, and inventory levels.
  8. Assist in resolving procurement, quality, or delivery issues in coordination with suppliers.
  9. Provide reports and insights on purchasing performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and regulatory requirements impacting procurement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the electronics or PCBA industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB assembly processes, materials, and the supplier landscape.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong commitment to ethical purchasing practices and compliance with company policies.
