MSR-GE is a leading renewable energy (“RE”) developer committed to driving the transition to clean energy through innovative and sustainable projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Project Manager on a 2-year contract basis to support the delivery of renewable energy projects from conception to completion. This role will initially be based at our headquarters but will require to be fully based at the project sites, especially during critical phases of project execution. Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
The ideal candidate should have the skills and experience to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position involves close collaboration with various teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementation of the projects
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Develop project plans and communication strategies to keep all parties informed
- Support the estimation and management of project budgets and schedules
- Allocate resources and coordinate efforts of team members, contractors, consultants & other stakeholders
- Communicate project expectations clearly and consistently to team members and stakeholders
- Understand the project schedule (CPM) and ensure critical path items are on track
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, fostering strong relationships
- Ensure project compliance with all applicable regulations and codes
- Monitor and maintain high standards of quality control throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify and manage project risks, developing contingency plans as needed
- Track project milestones and deliverables. Prepare and submit the project claims.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports, proposals, dashboards, requirements documentation, presentations, minutes of meetings, etc.
- Provide guidance and support for the projects as needed
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification in project management is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in project or construction management within the renewable energy, power plants, grid substations, engineering, or construction sectors. Preferable with experience managing multidisciplinary teams in medium to large scale projects
- A strong understanding of project and/or construction processes especially in relation to greenfield developments, power plants and the local electrical grid, with a willingness to develop deeper technical knowledge as required
- Familiar with the processes involved in preparing the development plan for greenfield projects
- Familiarity with TNB project standards are an advantage
- A detail-oriented and organised approach to managing multiple projects and deadlines
- The ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and contractors
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project) and AutoCAD
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Flexibility to work at project sites as required, sometimes outside normal working hours
