Scope
- Design and deliver highâquality legal education while integrating relevant technology.
- Perform teaching, examining, research and communityâengagement duties expected of IIUM academic staff.
- Uphold moral and religious responsibilities toward colleagues and students.
- Attend meetings tied to any administrative roles held, as directed by the Rector, Dean or Head of Kulliyyah/Centre/Department.
- Guide students on character, behaviour and moral conduct as teacher (Muâallim), scholar (âAlim) and moral educator (Murabbi).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update law curricula reflecting current industry trends.
- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and workshops.
- Set, grade and provide feedback on assessments (exams, assignments, projects).
- Conduct and publish impactful legal research; supervise student theses.
- Stay current through professional development and active academic networking.
- Build industry links for curriculum relevance, internships and placements.
- Mentor students academically and professionally.
- Undertake other reasonable duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate (PhD), Masterâs and Bachelorâs Degree in Law from a recognised university.
- Minimumâ¯CGPAâ¯3.0 at Bachelorâs level.
- Open to Malaysian citizens only.
Minimum Competencies
- Ability to inspire and engage students with enthusiasm and passion.
- Flexibility, resilience and willingness to work extended hours when required.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior teaching and research experience in higher education is an advantage.

Language Qualifications
- Credits (minimumâ¯C) in Bahasa Malaysiaâ¯andâ¯English (including oral exam) at SPM level or equivalent recognised by the Government.
- IELTSâ¯Bandâ¯6â¯orâ¯MUETâ¯Bandâ¯4 (candidates without these must sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test).
- Proficiency in Arabic (written and spoken) is an advantage.
