Job Summary:

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the building material production line, ensuring smooth execution of production plans while meeting quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This role plays a critical part in coordinating manpower, improving processes, and supporting cross-department collaboration to meet business and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate production activities in the building material department, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Plan and manage manpower and resources effectively to achieve daily output targets
  • Monitor and evaluate production performance; identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and minimize downtime
  • Ensure strict compliance with ISO standards, 5S practices, and internal SOPs
  • Collaborate with departments such as Planning, QA/QC, and Maintenance to troubleshoot production issues and drive operational excellence
  • Prepare and present reports on production output, issues, and action plans to management
  • Lead, train, and mentor production staff to ensure efficiency, discipline, and adherence to safety and operational standards

Skills & Experience Likely Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years' working experience with a Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing or production, ideally in panel, wood, or construction-related industries is added advantage
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing, quality systems, and production planning
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
