About the role
We are looking for Assistant Procurement Manager to join our team at Greenpac (Packaging) Sdn. Bhd. This is a full-time role based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for overseeing procurement operations and inventory management to support the company's manufacturing and logistics activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and coordinate the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies to ensure timely delivery and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Lead all tender and quotation processes, ensuring adherence to procurement governance and driving process efficiency.
  • Negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable delivery terms, and high-quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the procurement team to support professional development and team effectiveness.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in supply chain operations, procurement, or logistics management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end supply chain operations with a strong track record of efficiency and performance.
  • Proficient in supply chain management systems such as Oracle, SAP S4HANA, and Envision.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract preparation and review, invoicing processes, and negotiation of commercial terms.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.
  • Exceptional multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
