Job summary
A leading electronics company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced procurement leader to manage and supervise the procurement team. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proficiency in Mandarin is required to work with suppliers from China and Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the procurement team to ensure timely execution of purchasing activities aligned with MRP demand and production schedules.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for PCBA and electronic components, including cost optimization, lead time reduction, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, planning, and quality teams to ensure procurement supports changing design, delivery, and material requirements.
- Manage and approve purchase orders and ensure accuracy in pricing, delivery schedules, and quantity based on demand forecasts.
- Oversee and coordinate responses to engineering changes (ECR/ECN/ECO) to minimize impact on production and inventory.
- Lead resolution of MOQ constraints, DOA, RMA, and other supply-related escalations.
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and initiate improvement plans or corrective actions as necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, including PO automation, inventory control, and supplier evaluation.
- Support the Procurement Manager in strategic projects, supplier audits, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of procurement experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or assistant manager role, preferably in the electronics or EMS industry.
- Strong knowledge of electronic/PCBA components, MRP systems, and end-to-end procurement processes.
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office, and procurement analytics tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to manage cross-functional expectations.
- High level of ownership, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is required to liaise with suppliers from China and Taiwan.
