Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Operations plays a crucial role in providing direction and guidance to the International Warehouse Distribution Centre team, ensuring that daily routine functions and reporting tasks are carried out efficiently. This role is based at MR DIY's headquarters in Seri Kembangan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance to international warehouse subordinates in establishing daily routine functions and reporting methods.
- Support managers and stakeholders in all aspects of day-to-day operations to ensure supply chain business goals are achieved.
- Assist in system troubleshooting within the respective international warehouses and ensure smooth operations.
- Escalate warehouse issues and concerns to top management in a timely manner.
- Guide and mentor the local warehouse team on reporting requirements as requested by top management.
- Drive cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement necessary changes.
- Analyze international warehouse distribution performance, assess capacity against forecast planning, and propose operational improvements.
- Collaborate and coordinate with local warehouse managers on new project implementations and process changes.
- Support the warehouse department in reviewing work processes, and provide solutions and suggestions to resolve operational issues.
- Foster strong interdepartmental relationships and align the warehouse department with project plans and operations.
- Coach and guide warehouse team members on new project implementations such as warehouse relocations, new warehouse setups, stocktakes, etc.
- Oversee the delivery of projects and make necessary adjustments to ensure they meet specifications and high standards.
- Monitor progress and timelines of new assignments across team members to ensure project objectives are met.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations.
- Good command of English and Mandarin (both written and spoken), with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrates appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities, especially in international and cross-cultural interactions.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in both operational and strategic planning.
- Demonstrates effectiveness and efficiency in work execution.
- Multilingualism is an added advantage.
- Ability to identify work process issues and implement improvements.
- Open with minimum work travelling.
