Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at KANTIN at The Granary in Kuching, Sarawak. As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service delivery, and maintaining high standards across the restaurant. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and lead various departments to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

What You'll Be Doing

Assist in managing the overall operations of the restaurant

Lead and support front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure consistent service quality

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards

Manage inventory control, purchasing, and cost management

Monitor staff performance, conduct training, and support career development

Help resolve customer issues in a professional and timely manner

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors as needed

Contribute to strategy, planning, and implementation of new initiatives

Assist in scheduling and labor cost management

Prepare operational reports and provide insights to management

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Prior experience in an Assistant Manager or supervisory role within the F&B industry

Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Solid understanding of restaurant operations and best practices

Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management software is a plus
