Position: Assistant Marketing Manager (Retail Focus – Pet Industry)

Location: Balakong, “Multiple Store Locations” around Klang Valley

We are a growing pet supplies retail chain dedicated to providing the best care, products, and experience for pets and pet lovers alike. We’re looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Marketing Manager to lead our retail marketing initiatives, work closely with principals and suppliers, and drive brand success across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Marketing & Campaigns

  1. Oversee all in-store displays and ensure marketing materials and promotions are properly executed and visually appealing.
  2. Develop and manage the retail marketing team to support the marketing plan and achieve business objectives.
  3. Develop and implement integrated marketing plans to increase brand visibility and drive sales across both online and offline channels.
  4. Collaborate with sales and operations to create and execute promotional campaigns, including in-store displays, training, product demos, advertising (digital & traditional), and other marketing initiatives.
  5. Create and manage budgets for all marketing activities, ensuring spending aligns with business goals.

Brand & Business Management

  1. Conduct market research to understand customer needs, preferences, industry trends, and monitor competitor activity.
  2. Develop and implement brand strategies to grow sales and increase market share of assigned brands.
  3. Responsible for overall brand inventory management, including demand planning and product availability.
  4. Manage brand budgets, costing, and full P&L responsibility for assigned brands.
  5. Work closely with principals and suppliers to co-develop and execute strategic plans across purchasing, marketing, and sales.
  6. Present regular updates to principals on brand performance, including sales, customer feedback, and market insights.

Team Development & Communication

  1. Provide training, guidance, and support to the retail marketing team on how to effectively communicate with brand principals and work within the company’s structure.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2–3 years of marketing, merchandising, or brand management experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, or the pet industry.
  2. Proven experience in campaign planning, supplier collaboration, and brand growth.
  3. Strong analytical skills and understanding of marketing performance metrics.
  4. Skilled in budgeting, brand P&L management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  5. Good communication and negotiation skills with a creative, problem-solving mindset.
  6. Leadership ability with experience managing a small team.
  7. Passion for pets and pet products is a big plus!
