About the role

This full-time Assistant Manager, Water Resources position at Minconsult Sdn Bhd offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's water and waste engineering projects in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. You will support the delivery of critical water infrastructure projects serving the local community.

What you'll be doing

1. Handle independently typical types and sizes of projects related to storm water drainage, detention pond, flood mitigation, water resources, and coastal protection works as assigned by GM/Head of Division, with minimal guidance for larger projects.
2. Lead a team of engineers and staff in undertaking medium-sized multidisciplinary projects with minimal guidance.
3. Perform duties from preliminary/conceptual design to project completion.

Design and Drawing Preparation

• Prepare feasibility studies, design briefs, and sketch drawings with sufficient detail for draftspersons.
• Undertake detailed design, prepare specifications, bills of quantities, and schedules.
• Prepare quantities and bills of quantities, and design calculations per relevant codes and standards.

Tender Document and Evaluation

• Prepare tender documents, including specifications and bills of quantities.
• Prepare tender evaluation reports with recommendations.

Contract Administration

• Assist in selecting contract procurement methods.
• Review contractor submissions, prepare progress payment certificates, and address variations and disputes with guidance.

Business Development

• Maintain good client relationships.
• Prepare expressions of interest and proposals.
• Engage in sales and marketing efforts.

Management and Administration

• Assist in division and company management activities.
• Contribute to improving division efficiency.

Training and Self-Development

• Review and guide subordinates’ output.
• Mentor and conduct on-the-job training.
• Develop expertise in niche consultancy services.

Others

• Prepare cost estimates, attend meetings, coordinate with design teams, liaise with authorities, and supervise site works.
• Participate in CSR activities and perform other operational tasks as directed.

What we're looking for

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by BEM.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with BEM.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant consultancy experience.
• Ability to independently handle typical projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
