Assistant Manager - Training and Development (30032)

Sunway Education is seeking a committed and proactive professional to join our HR Training & Development team as an Assistant Manager. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our employees, fostering a strong learning culture aligned with our organisational values and strategic direction.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Champion and support initiatives that foster a strong learning culture. Collaborate with Heads of Departments, employees, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen employee capabilities and promote professional growth.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive learning strategies that align with organisational priorities. Utilise a blend of learning modalities, including in-person workshops, e-learning, mentoring, and coaching programmes.
  3. Work closely with department heads and employees to identify learning needs. Conduct thorough learning needs assessments to determine skill gaps and recommend appropriate development interventions. Align learning plans with career pathways and succession plans.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing learning programmes. Develop and implement improvements based on data, feedback, and evolving organisational needs.
  5. Design and manage feedback processes to gather input from learners, facilitators, and managers. Analyse feedback to inform continuous improvement of learning content and delivery methods.
  6. Assess and liaise with external training providers to ensure high-quality, relevant, and cost-effective learning solutions. Maintain positive and professional vendor relationships.
  7. Design and deliver executive development programmes targeted at junior executives. Ensure content aligns with the Sunway Leadership Competencies and supports the development of leadership capabilities.
  8. Utilise learning and performance data to identify trends and gaps. Apply insights to recommend and implement data-driven learning interventions and strategies.
  9. Manage the training budget efficiently and ensure effective utilisation of HRDC funds in compliance with relevant guidelines and policies.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Education, Organisational Development, or a related field.
  2. 3 to 5 years of experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development.
  3. Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  4. Experience in programme evaluation and budgeting.
  5. Certification in training, facilitation, or instructional design (e.g., HRDC TTT, CPLP, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
