Assistant Manager, Sustainability and Reporting

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager in Sustainability and Reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of sustainability reporting and management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your main responsibilities will involve coordinating the Annual Sustainability Statement Reporting, managing the compilation of the company's Annual Report, and organizing our Annual General Meeting (AGM) event.

You will also provide support for sustainability initiatives, assist in preparing reports for key committees. As a central point of contact for sustainability-related inquiries, you will engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and stay updated on evolving reporting standards to enhance our sustainability practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sustainability Reporting - Coordinate the preparation of the yearly Sustainability Statement reporting, working closely with internal data owners to ensure precision and adherence to regulatory standards and continuously identify and implement areas to improve the Company’s FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index
  • Annual Report Management – project managing the compilation of the company's Annual Report through collaboration with internal stakeholders and external parties, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory timelines and requirements outlined in the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad's Main Market Listing Requirements and other regulatory standards/guidelines
  • Annual General Meeting (AGM) Coordination - Take charge of organising our company's Annual General Meeting event, from agenda sourcing to venue arrangements, shareholder management, and facilitating Q&A sessions.
  • Sustainability Initiative Support - Liaise across departments to research and develop opportunities for sustainability initiatives, providing guidance and support throughout the conceptualisation, communication, and implementation phases
  • Assist in preparing reports for the Sustainability Committee, Board Risk Management Committee, and the Board, including progress tracking of implementation plans, Sustainability KPIs, and industry developments.
  • Assist in ensuring the organisation’s compliance with Bank Negara’s guidelines/ frameworks/ policies pertaining to Sustainability/ ESG.
  • Stay abreast of sustainability reporting standards such as GRI Standards, SDGs and ISSB for continuous enhancement.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Risk Management, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and passion for designing and implementing sustainable business practices.
  • Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience or knowledge in data management and the preparation of reports.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Reporting (IR) is an advantage.
