Assistant Manager Strategic Healthcare Development

The Assistant Manager – Strategic Healthcare Development will play a crucial role in assisting the Vice President with medical strategies, operational excellence, and the implementation of new projects and initiatives.

Role Descriptions:

  1. Strategic Innovation: Develop and implement creative frameworks that enhance healthcare service offerings, elevate patient experiences, and advance organizational objectives in the health tourism sector.
  2. Market Prioritization: Identify high-potential medical specialties, source markets, and strategic regions to focus Malaysia's health tourism promotion efforts, ensuring maximum impact and return on investment.
  3. Project Management & Leadership: Spearhead cross-functional healthcare initiatives involving novel service integrations, technological advancements, and data-driven program development to position Malaysia as a regional leader.
  4. Competitive Intelligence: Conduct comprehensive analyses of regional healthcare landscapes, market trends, competitive offerings, and economic factors to identify distinctive growth opportunities within the health tourism ecosystem.
  5. Stakeholder Ecosystem Development: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships between MHTC and diverse healthcare stakeholders (specialists, hospitals, regulators, wellness providers) to create integrated care pathways that showcase Malaysia's unique value proposition.
  6. Service Excellence: Optimize operational workflows and patient journey touchpoints to deliver seamless, holistic care experiences that differentiate Malaysia's health tourism offerings in the international market.
  7. Collaborative Market Development: Work across organizational teams to assess market demand and effectively promote Malaysia's distinctive healthcare capabilities to potential health tourists in targeted regions.
  8. Performance Analytics: Prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership detailing strategic initiatives, implementation progress, and measurable outcomes of new healthcare service integrations.
  9. Reporting: Preparing reports for senior management on the strategic initiatives and outcomes.
  10. Additional Responsibilities: Execute other projects and tasks as assigned by the VP of Healthcare.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of bachelor’s degree in any healthcare related fields (Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical / Biotechnology, Health sciences, Nursing, etc).
  2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare field (experience in strategy and operations is preferable but not compulsory).
  3. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu.

Additional Skills:

  1. Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of health trends and issues affecting regional/global healthcare.
  2. Good data-driven decision-making capabilities and program management skills.
  3. Stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate with diverse healthcare partners.
  4. Demonstrated ability to implement healthcare strategies and solutions incorporating new ideas + technology will be advantageous.
