ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Assistant Manager – Statutory Reporting and Projects will be responsible for the preparation of Statutory Accounts in line with IAS/IFRS, GAAP, and local standards for BAT entities (End Markets). Responsibilities include preparing quarterly and annual Financial Statements, assisting with reports such as E-Invoicing, Sales and Service tax, and Withholding tax filings. The role requires ensuring accuracy, quality, timely completion, and maintaining KPIs as per SLA. Projects involve scoping, designing, building, and testing financial reports with designated tools.

Reporting Level: Individual Contributor

Geographic Scope: Malaysia

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
  • Financial Reporting – Extracting data from SAP and preparing financial statements for submission, ensuring compliance with IAS/IFRS, GAAP, and local standards, with proper reconciliation and analysis.
  • Variance Analysis – Providing detailed line-by-line analysis of financial statements, explaining significant variances, and liaising with responsible parties for clarifications.
  • Annual Report / Audited Financial Statements – Providing supporting information for financials to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report Design – Ensuring accurate design and timely delivery of specified reports using designated tools.
  • E-Invoicing – Preparing, reviewing, and submitting relevant transactions.
  • SST and WHT – Preparing, reviewing, and filing Sales and Services Tax and Withholding Tax returns.
  • Supporting management with schedules and additional information for management reports.
  • Responding promptly to queries to promote a customer-oriented culture.
  • Supporting ad-hoc analysis and activities to achieve company objectives.
  • Project management skills for service migration supporting Finance Transformation initiatives.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Qualified accountant (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, CPA) with 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Major in accounting with in-depth understanding of IAS/IFRS and relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) at an intermediate/advanced level.
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation for publicly listed companies is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills.
